Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia) Farming

Giloy is a popular herb known as Tinospora cordifolia. Giloy is a plant that grows in bunches, its bizarre kernels and stems are very thick in size. Along with this, dark spots are formed. Giloy leaves fall. This plant is mainly used in making medicine. It is also known by other names like Amrita, Guduchi, Chhinnaruha, Chakrangi etc. Accounts prepared from Giloy are used in the treatment of diseases like fever, jaundice, skin diseases, indigestion and cancer.

Giloy is grown in sandy loam soil. Before planting it in the fields, pulverize the soil very well, so that the plant can grow easily. Its yield requires a temperature of 25 to 28 degrees.

Well cuttings of Giloy plants are planted in the fields. Planting plants in the ground and the distance between them is kept up to 3 meters. Wooden splinters are required to grow it. It can also be easily grown with other trees. The cut stem of Giloy has to be transplanted within 24 to 48 hours. The months of June and July are considered important for its cultivation.

Giloy plant does not get infected by insects in any way. Diseases do not affect its roots. This plant has its own pest control ability. The land around it should always be weeded. Giloy can be produced up to about 800 kg per hectare. Its dry weight is up to 300 kg. At present, there is a lot of demand for its medicines in the world.
