What is the scheme for depositing outstanding electricity bill
In the interest of the farmers, it has been decided by the state government that in order to give relief to the agricultural consumers with excessive outstanding amount of electricity bill, the consumers of regular and disconnected agricultural electricity connections till November 30, 2021 will have to pay the outstanding amount of electricity bill without any interest. Penalty can be deposited in 6 bi-monthly installments. For this, the consumer will have to apply to the concerned Assistant Engineer office by March 31, 2022. Along with this, it has also been decided that the general category rural agricultural consumers, who have taken advantage of this scheme and are paying the installments on time additional grant of Rs 1000/month under Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Energy Scheme.
Action will not be taken if there is a high electricity bill
Shri Bhati said that in those agricultural meter category consumers whose meter is correct and during vigilance check the respective load is found to be more than the sanctioned load, then in such cases no vigilance inquiry report will be prepared and regularization will be done by charging the increased load regularization fee. Along with this, a provision has also been made that if the agricultural consumer deposits 50 percent of the statutory liability amount and the entire compounding amount, then the vigilance inquiry report will be submitted at the level of Assistant Engineer.
Electricity bill will be given to the farmers at the rate of Rs 0.90 per unit
At present, in the cases of electricity theft of agricultural consumers, the statutory liability amount has been assessed by the Regulatory Commission for the entire tariff approved by the concerned agriculture category, which is currently Rs. 5.55 per unit. It has now been decided that the statutory liability amount in such cases will be calculated as per the subsidized rate payable by the agricultural consumers 0.90 rupee per unit for general agricultural category consumers.
