Subsidy on ginger farming?

The area under cultivation of ginger in India is about 143 thousand hectares, in which about 765 thousand metric tons are produced. In India, ginger is cultivated mainly as a main commercial crop in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In India, the state of Kerala ranks first in ginger production.

Climate For Ginger Cultivation

Ginger is cultivated in hot and humid places. Its good yield is about 1500 to 1800 mm, in areas with annual rainfall. Apart from this, there should be management of water drainage and there is no water stagnation in the field.

Soil For Ginger Cultivation

Sandy loam soil is essential for the cultivation of ginger. The soil is suitable for a high amount of organic matter and organic matter. The pH value of the soil should be between 5.6 - 6.5 and the soil should have good drainage.

Field Preparation For Ginger Harvest

For cultivation of  ginger, deep plowing of the field in the month of Mar-April and leave it for some time, so that the field can get good sunlight. After this, in the month of May, make the soil fine by plowing with rotavator. After this, plow the field by adding rotten manure of cow dung or compost and neem cake in the same quantity in the field, the field should be leveled. For irrigation of the field and according to the method of sowing, the prepared field should be divided into small beds.

Ginger Sowing Time

Ginger is sown in the month of June and row to row distance at sowing should be kept 30 to 40 cm and plant to plant distance you can put as 20 to 25 cm. Apart from this, we need to see the middle tubers, which are to be covered with light soil or cow dung manure(FYM) after sowing at a depth of four to five cm.

Profit From Ginger Cultivation

On an average, 150 to 200 quintals per hectare yield is obtained from ginger cultivation. Let us tell you that in the cultivation of ginger, about 1 lakh 20 thousand rupees are spent in one acre of field and 120 quintals of ginger is produced in one acre.

Subsidy On Ginger Cultivation

To reduce the expenditure on ginger cultivation to the farmers, the government is also providing subsidy on ginger cultivation. Let us inform that the Horticulture Department of Madhya Pradesh is working on the scheme of expansion of spice area. Where the government is giving 50 percent maximum grant of 50 thousand rupees per hectare for farming. In which a grant of 50 thousand is being given to the farmers of the general category, while 70 percent maximum amount up to Rs 70,000 per hectare is being given to farmers  and scheduled tribe category.
