After the recent prices of Kharif crops, now the CCEA on behalf of the Central Government has approved the increase in MSP for six Rabi crops for the Rabi crop year 2021-22 (July-June) and 2022-23 marketing seasons. Let's see what they said?
The MSP of wheat for this crop year has been increased from Rs 1975 per quintal to Rs 40 per quintal in the 2020-21 crop year. The Center has taken an important and big decision for the farmers. The production cost of wheat is estimated to be Rs 1008 per quintal. According to the data, the government believes that a record wheat of more than 43 million tonnes has been procured during the Rabi marketing season 2021-22.
Talk about the support price of barley for the crop year 2021-22. Talking about last year, Rs 35 per quintal has been increased from Rs 1600 per quintal to Rs 1635 per quintal. Among pulses, the MSP of gram has been increased by Rs 130 to for one quintal is Rs 5230 while that for masoor (pulses) has been increased from Rs 5100 earlier to Rs 5500 per quintal i.e. now barley. Overall barley 1635 same gram with Rs 5230, lentil Rs 5500 and mustard Rs 5050 with safflower at Rs 5471 per quintal. How do you think this new MSP is for the farmers.
A central scheme like National Mission on Edible Oils – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP) with a total outlay of Rs 11,040 crore – will help in reducing dependence on import of edible oils and increase productivity, but will also help farmers to increase income and will also benefit from additional employment generation.
Giving information about the decision taken in the meeting of the Union Cabinet, Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Anurag Thakur informed about the increase in the minimum support price for Rabi crops.
