70 lakh tonnes of paddy will be procured at MSP in Uttar Pradesh

 

Paddy cultivation is done mainly in many states of India. After this, the farmers will go to the Mandis to sell their paddy produce. For this, efforts are being made by the state government to make better arrangements at its level so that farmers do not face any problem in selling their produce at the procurement center. In this episode, the Yogi government of the state has started preparations for the purchase of paddy in Uttar Pradesh as well.

According to the news published in the media, in the cabinet meeting in Uttar Pradesh recently, approval has been given to purchase paddy at the minimum support price. The state government will procure 70 lakh tonnes of paddy in this Kharif season. For this, the procurement centers and timings have been fixed.

Purchase on Minimum Support Price: 

Where and when will paddy be procured in the state
Paddy procurement in Uttar Pradesh will start next month. The procurement of paddy will be started at different times according to the division. In Lucknow division's Hardoi, Lakhimpur, and Bareilly, Moradabad, Meerut, Saharanpur, Agra, Aligarh, Jhansi districts, the purchase of paddy will be started from October 1, 2021, and will continue till January 31, 2022.
In the districts of Lucknow, Sitapur, Rae Bareli, Unnao and Chitrakoot, Kanpur, Ayodhya, Devipatan, Basti, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Prayagraj, the procurement will start from November 1, 2021, which will run till February 28, 2022.

Build 4 thousand procurement centers for the purchase of paddy
This time 4,000 procurement centers have been set up by the state government in the paddy Kharif marketing year 2021-22. In this, 1100 of Marketing Branch of Food Department, 1500 of Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Federation (PSF), 600 of Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Union Limited (PCU), 200 of Uttar Pradesh State Agricultural Produce Market Council, North 200 of the State Agricultural Produce Market Council, 300 of the Uttar Pradesh Consumer Cooperative Federation (UPSS) and 300 of the Food Corporation of India.


Timings fixed for purchase centers
In Uttar Pradesh, paddy will be done at all procurement centers from 9 am to 5 pm. But if needed, the district officers of the district can decide to open and close the procurement centers.
Sundays and holidays declared by the state government will not be purchased.

Paddy purchase will be paid within 72 hours
After the purchase of paddy in the state, the payment of the price of paddy to the farmers is done by the PFMS of the Government of India. Paddy procurement will be done through the portal within 72 hours. Rice will be given to the mill owners. Bonus on paddy purchase If the rice has to be supplied by the mill to the central bridge within 45 days in respect of the paddy given to the rice mill in the state, then the rate of incentive is Rs 20 per quintal for Arva rice and Sela rice milled paddy. will be payable on In case of non-delivery of rice within 45 days, holding charge at the rate of Re 1 per quintal will be payable. Reimbursement of incentive amount will be payable only to those rice mills, whose affiliation will be done by the District Magistrate / Divisional Food Controller / Commissioner, Food and Logistics, in the event of having rice mills in the district, in the division, and outside the division respectively.
