Unique ID will be created for 58 lakh farmers

 

The Hemant Soren government of Jharkhand has started a special scheme for the farmers. The name of this scheme is Birsa Kisan. Work has started on this scheme started with the aim of increasing the income of farmers and making them prosperous. Under Birsa Kisan, a unique ID of about 58 lakh farmers of the state will be created, which will also have a barcode. According to the information, the barcode will contain information about the schemes, the benefits of which are being taken by the farmers of the state. Director of Agriculture Department, Nisha Oraon Singhmar gave information in this regard on Wednesday.

Talking to news agency ANI, he told that under the 'Birsa Kisan' scheme, farmers across the state will be registered with a unique ID. It will have a barcode, which will include information about the schemes being received by the farmers. To ensure that only authentic farmers are registered under the scheme, Nisha Oraon Singhmar said all the farmers e-KYC will be done at Pragya Kendra.. He said that 58 lakh farmers of the state would come under the purview of 'Birsa Kisan'.

According to the Jharkhand Agriculture Department, to register under the scheme, farmers will have to provide Aadhaar card, mobile number and bank account. The bank account will be used for Direct Benefit Scheme (DBT). KYC of farmers will be done in Pragya centers to ensure that only authentic farmers with Aadhaar numbers are registered under the scheme.

The Agriculture Department said that the barcode found with the unique I will be used to give benefits of various government schemes. As well as the bar code from the farmers to find information of all government schemes. which will be uploaded and stored separately on a server. It helps to know which farmer has got the benefit of which scheme.

Actually, the purpose of the government behind creating a unique ID and barcode under the Birsa Kisan Yojana is to eliminate the role of middlemen.
