Both varieties of potato have been developed at CTCRI located in Thiruvananthapuram. Training of both these varieties has also been done on the field of some farmers. High yield potential of these two new varieties has been seen in both the experiments. Seeing its successful use, farmers are now opting to plant these tuber crops in their fields as well as visiting the institute to demand seeds and other planting material for the cultivation of Shree Raksha variety of cassava. CTCRI has distributed potato seeds as well as planting material and suitable fertilizers to about a dozen farmers.h yield
