Initiative is being taken by Gandi Board to increase the income of 'C' and 'D' grade mandis of Madhya Pradesh. In this regard, Mandi Board Managing Director, Mrs. Priyanka Das, under the Government of India's important scheme "Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), the 'C' and 'D' mandis of Madhya Pradesh whose income and arrival are very less and which Mandis become unable to bear their financial burden, action plan has been started for allotment of land to agricultural industries on vacant land of 122 such mandis.
Various types of warehouses, cold storages, assessing labs, electronic weighbridges, sorting grading plants, drawing yards, trading platforms, ripening chambers, etc. units will be set up to stabilize the income of such mandis. In this context, the work of marking the land of 'C' and 'D' class mandis of all the seven divisions (Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Sagar, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Rewa) of the Mandi Board has been started.
In this regard, after meeting at the Mandi Board Headquarters on August 24, an action plan has been prepared regarding allotment of vacant land available in Mandis to private investors.
The meeting was attended by Mrs. Priyanka Das, Managing Director Mandi Board, Mr. Sunil Saxena, Mr. Chandrashekhar Vashisht, Additional Director, Mr. Jagdish Srivastava, Superintending Engineer, and other officers and employees of the Mandi Board.
