The monsoon usually reaches Kerala by June 1. The Meteorological Department had earlier estimated the arrival of monsoon here by May 31, but then the department gave information and said that the situation for monsoon has not yet arrived.

Light to moderate rain with light to moderate rain may occur over Northeast India, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Konkan and Goa, Kerala, and Coastal Karnataka.

- Weather is suitable for Cotton farmers can start the irrigation after the 40 days of sowing.
- Farmers can start the preparation of paddy nurseries. For one ha land, 800 to 1000 sq meter nursery is sufficient.
- Sowing of Pigeon pea can be done this week for good germination and yield.
- Farmers are also advised to start the nursery for brinjal and chili in the shed for reducing the seed-borne disease.
- Harvest the mature vegetables and keep them in the shade.
