In Madhya Pradesh, the procurement of wheat was started on Thursday at the minimum support price. In view of the conditions of corona infection, the presence of more than 20 farmers at any one time has been banned at any center. At the same time, there is no problem in payment, so the purchase will be five days a week. Two days will be accounted and transportation will be ensured.
In view of the heat, instructions have been given to keep shade and water arrangements for the farmers to sit in the procurement centers. On the other hand, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has asked the officials to ensure that farmers do not face any kind of problem. More than 24 lakh farmers have registered to sell wheat at support price (Rs 1,975 per quintal) in the state.
Procurement has started in Indore and Ujjain divisions. Managing Director of Civil Supplies Corporation Abhijeet Aggarwal said that three dates have been taken from farmers to sell produce. Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel told the farmers not to hurry. Wheat will be purchased from each farmer.
