Farmers will not have to bother to locate wheat purchasing centers in the state. The government has started geotagging of wheat purchasing centers. With this, now the farmers will know the location of the purchasing centers online. For this, geotagging is being done from remote casing application center of Krishi Kendra.
Food Commissioner Manish Chauhan said on Tuesday that from April 1, wheat will be procured through 6000 centers across the state. For the sale of wheat, farmers are required to register on the website of Food and Logistics Department www.fcs.up.gov.in. Farmers can register themselves or through cybercafés and public convenience centers.
For the convenience of farmers, online tokens have been arranged this year. Now farmers will be able to get tokens on their own for sale of wheat at the Krisya Kendra as per their convenience. If the center in-charge farmer is refused to take wheat, he can appeal to the committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Regional Marketing Officer working at the Taluka level. If the quantity of wheat is more than 100 Quintals, the Deputy Collector will verify the villages and sharecroppers under consolidation. The farmer can register the sale of wheat produce on the land beyond the ceiling of the ceiling act, then the committee constituted under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate will verify it.
Purchase will be done at 06 thousand centers
Food Commissioner informed that 6000 purchasing centers of Food Department and other purchasing agencies are proposed this year.
