Farmers will have to register on the website of the Food and Logistics Department, www.fcs.up.gov.in, to sell wheat. They can register themselves or through cyber cafés and public convenience centers. The state government has fixed the time from April 1 to June 15 for procurement of wheat directly from the farmers under the Minimum Support Price Scheme in the Rabi marketing year 2021-22.
Food Commissioner Manish Chauhan said on Monday that online tokens have been arranged this year for the convenience of farmers. Geotagging of purchasing centers is being done to provide location and address information. For the convenience of the farmers, there is also a system of nomination of the representative if they do not come. He said that farmers can contact the toll-free number 1800-1800-150 or the District Food Marketing Officer of the concerned district or the marketing inspector of the block for any assistance.
He appealed to the farmers to bring wheat for sale by stirring the wheat and removing soil, pebbles and other alien materials.
