At present, the work of harvesting of farmers is going on, while the crop of more than 50 percent farmers is still standing in the fields. In such a situation, the crop market has not been reached yet and the procurement centers are to start from April 1, so the farmers are finding it difficult to get the benefit of a lump sum solution scheme implemented on tube well combinations.
Due to this, farmers organizations have now demanded the Energy Minister to increase the OTS till the month of May in the interest of farmers.Currently, 5400 farmers in the district are irrigating the fields by consuming tube wells by consumers and owing lakhs of rupees on them. Arrears ranging from about one to one and a half to two lakh rupees are also running on each farmer. In such a situation, this time a lump sum solution scheme has been implemented for the domestic and farmer consumers by the government to provide relief to the farmers by giving surcharge to the big defaulters.
But this scheme has been implemented till such time, while the crops of farmers are still standing in the fields and many farmers are harvesting in the fields, but have not reached the market yet. At present, neither the farmer market nor the purchasing centers can be opened. In such a situation, how should the farmers get the benefit of this important scheme implemented in the farmer interest of the government. For this, several farmers organizations have demanded the government to extend the said scheme till the month of May, till the purchase of crop markets and purchasing centers of the farmers in the interest of farmers.
