Weather is turning day by day during the new year 2021 in many parts of the country, the drop in temperature has been recorded more than before. In parts of the country due to rain, the temperature dropped and there were cold wave conditions. Apart from this, snowfall in intermittent states like Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand continues intermittently.
The meteorological department has forecast minimum temperatures of three to five Celsius in most areas of northwest India. According to the IMD with the fall in temperature, and chances of the cold wave can be seen in the Punjab, Haryana, and North parts of Rajasthan on Monday and Tuesday. During the next two days, the dense fog can be seen over some places in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and western parts of Uttar Pradesh and some parts of Rajasthan.
The South broke records for up to 100 years of rain in January. In fact, this situation has arisen due to the formation of several cyclonic winds simultaneously in different parts of the country along with the Western Disturbance. In Delhi, around 60 mm rainfall observed between 2 and 7 January 2021. Delhi normally receives so much rain in January, February, and March. Except for Chandigarh and Ladakh, all the states of the northwest received two to three times more rainfall than normal.
The IMD has predicted that from January 10 to 14 January cold winds will occur in the hilly states as well as Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar.
Today on 10 Jan 2021 there is a possibility of rains with strong thunderstorms in Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, and parts of western Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, south India may receive more rain than usual from 14-28 January. If weather conditions are to be expected, by January 13, central India is likely to receive more rain than usual.
Chennai received 228.4 mm of rainfall in the first week of January. Which is the highest since 1915. Hassan, Chitradurga, Karnataka received 102 mm of rain, the highest since 1918. Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu received 113 mm and Mangalore in Karnataka 56.7 mm, the highest in history.
According to IMD due to the easterly wind from Karnataka coast to Maharashtra coast, there is a possibility of light rain along with thunderstorms in some places of Maharashtra for the next two days. A possibility of fall in minimum temperature In the northwest l by three to five degrees during the next five days.
The snowfall continues in the higher reaches of Uttarakhand, Jammu due to which the temperature has decreased but the cold has also increased. The mountainous regions of Uttarakhand are covered with snow and a cold wave prevails here.
