In view of Rabi season in Madhya Pradesh, advance subsidy on gram seed will be paid. The state government has taken such a decision to provide relief to small farmers. The Department of Agriculture has issued an order related to this.
Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare Minister Kamal Patel said that small farmers used to have trouble in buying seeds, they are short of funds. The state government used to pay subsidy on seeds later. In such a situation, farmers had to take loans from moneylenders. In view of this situation, the advance payment of subsidy being given on gram seeds has been ordered. With this initiative, small farmers will not fall into the trap of moneylenders.
For one hectare area in the state, gram seed of Rs 4300 is given, a subsidy of 3000 rupees is given in it. The Agriculture Department deposits the entire amount of gram seed and transfers the subsidy to the accounts later. A large number of small of Dalit, Adivasi, and forest dwellers were unable to take advantage of this, due to not being able to arrange lump sum money for gram seeds, they had to worry about the seeds.
