Crop Insurance date extended in Madhya Pradesh

While giving relief to the farmers in the flood-affected districts, the Central Government has extended the date of Crop Insurance till 7 September.

During this period, the districts of Madhya Pradesh whose farmers will get the benefit of the extended date include Raisen, Sehore, Hoshangabad, Dewas, and Harda. 

Farmers of these districts will be able to deposit the premiums of the crop insurance schemes till 7 September. On extending the date of crop insurance, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has thanked Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. 

According to CM Shivraj, by extending the date of the insurance scheme, the central government has decided in the interest of farmers. Earlier, the last date of the crop insurance scheme was 31 August 2020, but due to the flood situation, many farmers could not get crop insurance until this date. CM Shivraj and Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel wrote a letter to the Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar to extend the date of crop insurance.

Farmers will get a chance

Last year, about 23 lakh farmers in Madhya Pradesh joined the Prime Minister's Crop Insurance Scheme. This year, about 32 lakh farmers have insured their crops by depositing the premium of the insurance scheme, but due to the flood on the 29th, many farmers failed to deposit the insurance amount. On this, the CM and the Agriculture Minister had written a letter to the Union Agriculture Minister requesting to extend the date of insurance, on which the Union Agriculture Minister has decided to extend the date in 5 districts Raisen, Sehore, Hoshangabad, Dewas, and Harda.
