Weather Forecast its impact on crop

Today we will read about the weather forecast for the next three days 1-3 September 2020

. According to the IMD. 

Heavy rain with a strong wind at scattered places likely over Rajasthan, Subhimaliayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Gujarat during the next three days. Assam, Meghalaya Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram may occur heavy rain with thunderstorms accompanied and lighting. 

 Moderate rain with wind gusts may likely over Maharastra, Konkan, Goa, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, and some more parts of coastal areas during the next three days.

Whereas Light to moderate rain at isolated places likely over Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, and Kashmir,  Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and some parts of Madhya Pradesh. In the north and western parts of the country may also have strong wind during these days. 

Day and night temperature may fall by 1-2 degree Celcius in northern and western parts of the country. No significant change in temperature remaining parts of the country.  

Weather Impact on crops

• Farmers are advised to maintain proper drainage in standing crop fields, vegetables, and pulses.
• Pest and disease attacks may occur paddy and cotton, maize, and soybean crop. 
• In vegetables like Brinjal, Tomato, Cauliflower, Okra, Chillies also may be infected by pest attack during this weather. Farmers must monitor the vegetables.
• If the paddy crop is affected by false smut than farmers can be controlled by apply copper oxychloride 500 grams/acre.
