Weather is very important for crops and farmers especially in the monsoon season. Most of the farmers crop totally depends on rain and weather. During the last few days heavy to very heavy rain observed in Southern and well as eastern parts of the country. Light to moderate rain observed in Northern Western and central parts of the country. In the Northern Zone, some parts were too hot and dry.
Let’s talk about the weather forecasts during the next few days and then weather impacts on crops.
During the next few days from 8-12 August 2020 heavy to very Tamilnadu, Kerala, and Coastal areas of Karnataka and Goa on the 8th of August whereas Moderate rain at isolated places of Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, and Northeastern India.
Scattered heavy rain at Northern India includes Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, and Andhra Pradesh during next 5 days. Moderate rain over Northeastern India includes Assam, Meghalaya. Reaming parts of the country receive light to moderate rain at isolated places.
Rajasthan, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan Goa, Jharkhand heavy rain may occur from 10th August to 12 August. Thunderstorm accompanied by lighting most parts of the country during the next five days. Strong wind during the next five days near coastal areas of Maharashtra, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, and the Arabian Sea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea during these days.
No significant change in temperature during the next few days. 1-2 Degree Celcius Maximum temperature fall in some parts of the country
Agriculture Advisory for Farmers
Whitefly and thrips attack may occur over cotton and vegetable crops. Monitor the crop regularly.
Application of nutrient in paddy crop after the optimum rain received. Irrigate the cotton where no rain in the forecast.
Fall Armyworm attacks may occur over Maize and Bajra. Monitor the crop regularly. Weather is favorable for different pests and diseases in different crops and vegetables.
