Modi said on Paddy crop and Lockdown Update

On Thursday the  Bihar State Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said on Paddy crop. He told the precautionary measures taken in state and procurement of paddy is more by keeping the agriculture sector free. They told that more than 3.15 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had been procured during the extended one-month period of April for paddy procurement keeping agricultural operations free from lockdown.

According to State Govt, 16.91 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had been purchased till March 31st and currently, till 30th April, 20.06 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had been purchased, which is 5.88 lakh metric tonnes more as compare to last year's 14.16 lakh metric tonnes.

In current we read about other crops there are 1400 metric tonnes of wheat has been procured through 3,621 selected committees, which will continue till July 15, 2020. 

In the state two times flood in the Kharif season 2019-20 and low and deficient rainfall in some areas, the state has a good yield of paddy.  Maybe it is a reason for the procurement of more than 20 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. 

The minimum support price of paddy at Rs. 1815 per quintal for the current year and farmers have also been paid Rs. 25 in Ghani bag item. So far, Rs 3,408.87 crore has been paid to the farmers. The maximum procurement of paddy has been made from Kaimur at 2.18 lakh MT, Rohtas at 2.08 lakh MT and Aurangabad at 1.31 lakh MT.

Modi said that wheat procurement has been started from April 20 at more than 3500 committees. Instead of selling to middlemen, they appealed to the farmers to sell their wheat to the PACS at Rs. 1925 per quintal. 

In Himachal Pradesh due to heavy rain and wind gusts, the farmers have to face a big problem in apple farming. The got more than 50 percent damage some of due to weather and some of due to lockdown.

The lockdown has been increased for two weeks and the Area is divided into three zones Red, Orange, and Green. We are waiting for the govt notification on the Green zone and Red zone. I hope some good updates for farmers and traders. Whereas the Govt. of Tripura had launched the Agro Entrepreneur Facilitation Desk for those who want to work in the agriculture sector to increase or boost agriculture. This desk will help them. Tripura is the one state who does not have any coronavirus case till now. I hope some good updates for these state farmers and citizens.
