The powdery mildew-The scientific name of this disease is Oidium mangiferae/ Acrosporum mangiferae
It is an important and serious disease of the Mango fruit crop. It affects more than 50 percent of damage in Mango. It mostly occurs in the first week of February to the last week of March. The disease will affect the inflorescence, stalk of panicle and fruit, also on new leaves. The symptoms of the diseases appear white superficial powdery growth of the fungus, the plant does not growth and drop before attaining pea-size. It will spread by air conidia.
Management
Farmers can manage them by dusting the sulfur 250-300 mesh at the rate of 500 gram per tree. The application of wettable sulfur 0.2 percent or Karathane 0.1 percent will be applied after flowering and repeated it by 15 days of interval will shows effective result.
