50% subsidy on cool House-refrigerated van to Promote Horticulture

Fruit, vegetable, and flower growers will be able to expand the scope of their business. The state government will also provide a subsidy of up to 50 percent for making horticulture cool houses and buying refrigerated vans. This subsidy will be from 7.5 lakh to 13 lakh rupees. Along with this, the implementation of the seed and pesticide scheme for the gardeners of the state on the lines of the Center was also approved.

The government will give the same benefits as the central subsidy to the planters who are exempted from central government schemes. The proposal was discussed at length in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat on Friday. However, the Horticulture Department had proposed to increase the subsidy limit from 50 to 75%. But the cabinet rejected it. According to sources, the rationale behind this was that at present, the state gardeners get the benefit of subsidy of a certain number of seeds and insecticides.

If the subsidy was increased, the profit center would be limited to the selected gardeners. In view of this, the cabinet decided to launch subsidy schemes parallel to the Center in CM Integrated Horticulture Development Scheme. A provision of 15 crores has been made for this. Agriculture and Horticulture Minister Subodh Uniyal has confirmed this.

How to get benefit to farmers

Build a cool house, supply it with a refrigerated van. The state government will provide Rs 7.5 lakh in a 30 metric ton capacity cool house to be built at a cost of Rs 15 lakh. At the same time, a subsidized of 50 percent will also be provided in nine metric ton capacity refrigerated vans of 26 lakh rupees: subsidy on fruits, flowers, and vegetables: vegetable, flowers, spices, fruit plants, potato seeds, turmeric, ginger, garlic, under the Horticulture Mission. There is currently a 50% subsidy on seeds like chilies, flowers, etc. 60% subsidy is available on pesticides. Now their benefit will also be available in CM Development Plan.
