During the last 48 hours, rain observed in some states of the country like Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Some Parts of Punjab, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, and Northeast India whereas moderate rains was observed in Tamilnadu, and south interior Karnataka.

According to the India Meteorology Department of India. Maximum temperature above normal 1-2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Southern parts, Northeastern and central parts of the country, whereas below 2-3 degrees Celsius from normal was recorded in Northern India.

Weather Forecast

Lets read about the weather forecast for the country, a thunderstorm accompanied with lighting and squall in northeastern states and with wind gusts in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Bihar, and East Uttar Pradesh. Whereas thunderstorm with hail may occur over Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next three days.  

A possibility of Light to moderate rains may occur over southern Karnataka, Kerala and some parts of Tamilnadu during the next 72 hours. The maximum temperature gradually increases by 2-3 degrees Celsius in Northwest India during the next 3 days. 

No significant change in temperature in other parts of the country. Weather is likely to be dry in other parts of the country.

Farmers Crop Advisory

Farmers are advised to grain should be clean and dry to the recommended level of moisture properly before storage. Also, you can use Malathion 0.5 solution and keep the chamber closed for 7-8 days.

Harvested grains and oilseed crops should be properly tied to avoid being carried away by winds. Farmers can irrigate the Wheat at the grain filling stage during the evening to avoid lodging.

Farmers can start the sowing of green grams of Pusa Vishal, Pusa Ratna, PDM11, SML 32, Samrat, Pusa 5931, and Pusa Baisakhi. Also, treat the seed before sowing. An increase in temperature provides light irrigation in vegetables. 

Weather is suitable for the sowing of French bean, lobia, okra, bottle guard, cucumber, ridge gourd, sponge gourd, and summer radish. The procurement of seed is done from certified seed/source.You can see the vegetable calendar sowing time and seed rate here.

In cucurbitaceous's crops, red pumpkin beetle attack occurs, use Diclorvos 76 EC (DDVP) @ 1 gram/l. In okra, mite attacks spray Ethion 1.5 ml/l Insect pest may occur over in onions, brinjal, and tomato. Farmers can sow the green manure where the rabi crop is harvested.
