Hello, today we examine pulses and the way to enhance and increase the yield. India ranks first both as producer and consumer of pulses. In India, pulses imports at a high level as domestic requirements for consumption as food. So, to achieve self-sufficiency in terms of pulse production the constraints in cultivation got to be addressed. During the pulses production faces a series of restraints include physiological limitations.
Green Gram |
These limitations include low germination percentage, insufficient source, low leaf quality, indeterminate growth habit, C3 photosynthetic apparatus, low photosynthesis, hormones inhibitors, a decline in nodule activity and grain quality. To beat these types of limitations an application of growth hormones is adopted also at appropriate time and quantity.
This article will help to increase yield production and improve the quality of pulses by using growth hormones and simple techniques.
Welcome to Vantika Tech
1. Pigeon Pea
- In the Pigeon Pea Mepiquat chloride 150 ppm, foliar spray at 42-45 days and 60-62 days after sowing will help in increasing the grain yield.
- Also, a foliar spray of NAA 40 ppm will help in increasing the seed yield.
2. Green Gram
- In green gram, a foliar spray of salicylic acid 100ppm after 30 and 45 days after sowing, will help in increasing the grain yield.
- Brassinolide 0.1 ppm foliar spray works as amelioration to flooding stress in green gram.
- Also, a foliar spray of urea 2% or DAP 2% at 30 and 45 days after sowing, will help in increasing the grain yield.
3. Soybean
Soybean |
- In soybean, a foliar spray of salicylic acid 100ppm after 30 and 45 days after sowing, will help in increasing the grain yield.
4. Cowpea
- For improving flooding tolerance in this a foliar spray of brassinolide 0.3 ppm is observed good result.
5. Black Gram
- In black gram, a foliar spray of salicylic acid 100ppm after 30 and 45 days after sowing, will help in increasing the grain yield.
- Brassinolide 0.1 ppm foliar spray works as amelioration to flooding stress also in black gram.
Bonus Tip
- Foliar spray of ferrous sulphate 0.5 % helps to control iron chlorosis and for zinc deficiency a foliar spray of zinc sulphate 0.5 %.
- It also noticed that control of vegetative dominance in rice fallow pulses, a foliar spray of mepiquat chloride 125 ppm results better.
