As we were seeing from last few days that a lockdown in India. So far, 66 -67% of the total land area of 310 million hectares of wheat has been harvested in the country amid the ongoing lockdown due to the Coronavirus epidemic. The efforts of the farmers along with the central and state governments have ensured that there is no impediment to the Rabi harvesting operations and continuous sowing of summer crops.

Farmer Equipment Shops
The season for selling products is going on. Therefore, in order to provide relief to the farmers, it has been allowed to open agricultural equipment shops and shops that improve these types of equipment and animal feed shops from 11 am to 4 pm. Shop employees and customers are required to wear masks.
Wheat harvesting in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh
According to the Agriculture Ministry, 63-67 percent of the total Rabi crop sown in 310 lakh hectares of land in the country has been harvested. While in some states like Madhya Pradesh 90-95%, Rajasthan 80-85%, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab 60- 65%. Harvesting in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh is likely to be completed by the end of this month.
Harvesting of pulses and sugarcane crop
Pulses such as gram, lentils, urad, moong, and peas have also been harvested in 161 lakh hectares of land. Whereas in the case of sugarcane, the crop sown has been completed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Punjab in a total of 54 lakh hectares. In the same states like Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Haryana, and Uttarakhand 90-95% harvesting has been completed. However, 75% of the harvesting in Uttar Pradesh has been completed and will continue till mid-May.
