According to the Govt. Senior Officer in the meeting confirmed that more than 80% of wheat cultivation has been harvested. More than 2000 main Mandis i.e. 80% Mandis have started operating. The purchase of pulses and oilseeds is in progress. Kisan Rath app has simplified buying and selling between farmers and traders during a lockdown. Around 80000 farmers and more than 70,000 traders are registered on Kisan Raths App. About 60% of the processing units are operational. They also said on Manrega and rural area problems.
What is Kisan rath?
The Department of Agriculture Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India is taking some steps to facilitate the Indian farmers and farming activities at field level during the COVID 19 and lockdown.
Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare had launched “Kisan Rath” App on 17 April 2020 to facilitate our Farmers and Traders to find out the right way of transportation for movement of farm produce like cereal, coarse cereal, pulses, etc, Also Fruits & Vegetables, oilseeds, spices, fiber crops, flowers, bamboo, log & minor forest produce, coconuts, etc in the Kisan rath app.
