Importance and Method of Seed Treatment for Kharif Season

Just like seed selection is important for a good crop, it is equally important to treat the seeds. Continuous scientific progress in modern farming can be benefited only when pure and good quality seeds of improved varieties are selected and sown before sowing. Seed treatment is a very important process to increase the germination of seeds, protect from pests and diseases. Mostly, farmers do crop sowing without doing seed treatment, so crop production is likely to be 8-10% less. There is a need for publicity for the farmers to adopt the important process of seed treatment so that information about its benefits in the crops should reach the farmers. The Government of India and the State Government are working to promote 100 percent seed treatment. In which Agricultural University, Agricultural Science Center, Atma, Industrial Organization and NGO. Together they are playing an important role.

Dust treatment method: - Under this, seed treatment is done with dried powder or powder. Seed treatment by Carbendazim for example.
Karma /slurry treatment method: - The use of a mixture of water-soluble powder is called karma/slurry treatment.
Fluid treatment method: - The use of chemicals used in liquid form is called fluid treatment.

Dry  Method:
To treat the seeds under this method, an appropriate amount of seeds and medicine are put in plastic drums and rotated for 10-15 minutes. Due to which the light layer of medicine evenly climbs over the seed.

If the drum is not available, put the seeds in a clean pot or on polythene, spraying or cracking the required amount of chemical or biocontrol over it and mixing it by hand with gloves. Then the treated seeds should be dried under shade and sown immediately.

Wet method:
In this method, water-soluble drugs are used to treat the seeds. To treat the seeds, make a solution by using medicine in a clay or plastic vessel. Then dip the seeds for 10-15 minutes. After that, remove the seeds and dry them under shade.

Method of Seed Treatment with Bacterial Culture
In this, for the treatment of bacterial culture (Rhizobium, Azotobacter, PSB culture), 250 g of gur in one liter of water is heated. After this, when the solution is cooled, mix 600 grams of culture (3 packets) and make ready the solution to treat the seeds of the o-hectare crop.

Recommendations of seed treatment in main crops of Kharif

American Cotton (Narma): -

Use the acid of commercial sulfur to remove the fiber from the cotton seeds. 1 liter of sulfur acid is sufficient for 10 kg of seeds. Put the seeds in a clay or plastic vessel, add a little sulfuric acid and stir with wood for a minute or two. Later, wash the seeds immediately in running water and separate the raw seeds floating above.

For prevention of pink braid found inside the seeds, fumigate 4 to 40 kg of seeds at least 24 hours with 3 grams of aluminum phosphide. If it is not possible to smoke, spread the seeds in strong sunlight and heat it for at least 6 hours.

One kg of fiber-free soft seed can be treated with 5 grams of imidacloprid (70 WS) or 4 grams of thiomithogamam (70 WS) to reduce harmful pests and leaf torsion virus.

Native cotton (Desi):

For prevention of pink braid found inside the seeds, fumigate 4 to 40 kg of seeds at least 24 hours with 3 grams of aluminum phosphide. If it is not possible to smoke, spread the seeds in strong sunlight and heat it for at least 6 hours.

Before sowing, mix 6 kg of zinc sulfate per bigha in the soil. The seeds sown are soaked in Carboxyne (70 wp) 0.3% or Carbendazim (50 wp) 2% (in 2 g / liter) solution or soaked in plain water for some time to dry. After this, Trichoderma hargenium was sown by treating 10 grams per kg of seed.

For fields where there is a high incidence of root rot disease, 5 kg of Trichodrama hargenium is mixed with 50 kg of moisture dung fertilizer (FYM) before sowing in the shade for 10-15 days. Keep it. Mix this mixture in the soil at the time of sowing in a bigha at the time of sowing. Also treat seeds with Trichoderma bio.

Green Gram:
Before sowing, treat the seed according to Thiram or Captan 3 grams per kg of seed. The sowing is treated with Rhizobium culture and the yield is increased. For this, after heating 600 grams of Rhizobium culture with 250 grams of jaggery in 1 liter of water, the seeds should be dried and cooled in the shade after treating them.

Guar:
To prevent fungal diseases, treat seeds in a 100 ml streptocycline solution for 4-5 hours before sowing. Three packets of bacterial culture (Rhizobium, Azotobacter and PSB culture) powder can be saved from fertilizer and fertilizer fertilizers by sowing one hectare of seeds for one hour before sowing.

Groundnut:
For control of caller rot (Sand thawing), treat and sow the seeds with one of the following fungicides. Carbendazim (50 wp) @ 2 gm / kg seed rate or carboxin (37.5%) + (thiram 5%) @ 2 gm / kg seed or propiconazole (25 EC) 2.0 ml / kg seed rate Effective control of the disease has been found by sowing it.
At the time of sowing, seeds per kg of seeds treated with 10 grams of Trichodrama hargenium powder have been found to have very effective control of caller rot (arthritic thawing) or root rot diseases.

Til:
Before sowing, sow the seeds by treating 3 grams of thiram or captan per kg of seed.
